A COMMUNITY HEALING AFTER THE BETRAYAL OF THE 1994 GENOCIDE

A community in Bisesero (Rwanda) is on a journey of forgiveness and being forgiven.

22 years after the Rwandan genocide, in the remote hills of Bisesero in South West Rwanda, lives a community trying to move forward from the horrors of the genocide. The community is made up of both survivors and perpetrators.

The film is set in a pineapple plantation; a project called Ubumwe Twiyubaka (Unity for Development) bringing both sides together. Through characters working in the field (both survivors and perpetrators), we are drawn into their private worlds and see the complex process of forgiveness and we see trust and friendship evolving.
