Imagine that Romeo and Juliet survived.Imagine that they didn't die, that instead they escaped to Sweden. Modern-day-Europe is the backdrop for this Shakespearean drama.
They arrive in Sweden with dreams of being safe and free, but they are not granted asylum. Every night they are scared. Scared that this is the night the Police will come to send them back. She falls into a deep depression, and one day she does not get out of bed. She is diagnosed with Pervasive Refusal Syndrome, a comatose state. He is left cut off from the world, attending to her every need. He struggles to keep order in his life and to be a good father. He fights to keep hope alive.
A documentary about darkness, the system, and the struggle to find light.
